What is Cybersecurity Awareness Month?
October 2023 will mark the 20th year that Cybersecurity Awareness Month has been held. It is administered by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) and the National Cybersecurity Alliance (NCA). Not only are these governmental agencies heavily involved in providing resources for businesses and the public to stay safe, but there are other entities involved as well. For instance the NCA on its website share that several organizations are partnered with them including Google, LinkedIn, Consumer Reports, NASDAQ, VISA, the IRS and more. A key goal of the month is to “raise awareness about digital security and empower everyone to protect their personal data from digital forms of crime.”
